WBC super flyweight champ Cristian Mijares followed his superb and dominant win over Jorge Arce with a 10th-round TKO of Teppei Kikui on pay-per-view in Mexico last night, improving his record to 32-3-2, with his 13th knockout.
On the undercard, veteran strawweight Lorenzo Trejo knocked out Erik Ramirez in the sixth round in a WBC eliminator. Trejo is now 30-15, and Ramirez 20-5-1. And in a featherweight eliminator, Gamaliel Diaz (22-6-2) outpointed Elio Rojas over 10 rounds, handing Rojas his first career loss.
On Friday Night Fights, Allan Green returned to the ring following his loss to Edison Miranda in March, scoring a TKO in the opening round with a hugely overwhelming attack on 39-year old Darrell Woods, who just had no answer for Green's ferocity. It was a great hometown return, and Green looked back to normal.
Don't forget that we'll be live with round-by-round scoring and analysis of the big HBO triple-header tonight, featuring Margarito/Williams, Gatti/Gomez and Cintron/Matthysse.
