SBN Fight Night at Bad Left Hook: Povetkin v. Chambers

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

MAIN EVENT
IBF Heavyweight Title Eliminator Final
ALEXANDER POVETKIN
(14-0, 11 KO, Kursk, Russia)
versus
EDDIE CHAMBERS
(30-0, 16 KO, Philadelphia, PA)

Show starts at 10pm eastern on HBO's Boxing After Dark, with the Jones-Trinidad replay up first. I would guess Povetkin-Chambers will go on around 11.

This is the second major heavyweight fight of 2008, following Chagaev-Skelton last weekend. The heavies do have a more promising lineup this year: Klitschko-Ibragimov and Maskaev-Peter are both major fights for the division, and the Valuev-Liakhovich eliminator isn't bad, even if I don't really understand how Sergei Liakhovich gets an eliminator slot for skipping 2007 while even John Ruiz kept fighting. And there's Ruiz-McCline in March, too.

The show is not live on HBO, it's on tape delay. Please do not post any spoilers. And if I were you, I'd entirely avoid BoxRec.com.
