KO of the Day: Manny Pacquiao v. Erik Morales III

In tribute to Manny Pacquiao for his victory over Juan Manuel Marquez last night, the KO of the Day feature goes to the "Pac-Man" for his 2006 destruction of Erik Morales, which finished their trilogy in electrifying fashion.

This was the second-to-last fight of Morales' storied career, but in essence, Pacquiao was the man that retired him. And unlike his very personal, very real rivalry with Marco Antonio Barrera, which culminated in Morales flinging a water bottle at his foe after their third fight, Morales congratulated Pacquiao and raised his hand in the center of the ring.

One other thing: For as overwhelmingly powerful and fast as Pacquiao was on this night, one thing you can say for "El Terrible" is that even when outgunned, he went out on his shield. He kept coming at Pacquiao. And when he hit the mat for the final time, he could've gotten up. But he conceded defeat. He knew he was in with the stronger man.
