Thursday, June 11
Versus, 9 p.m. Eastern (replay at 12), David Rodela vs. Juan Garcia, Charles Huerta vs. Noe Lopez Jr., Cornelius Lock vs. Vernie Torres. This is the premier of Golden Boy's new "Fight Night Club," and while they said it was going to be shorter fights, if this is what they're rolling out for the premier, then I can't say it looks too promising. Basically a bunch of WNF undercard fights.
Friday, June 12
Sky Sports, 10:30 a.m. Eastern, Ajose Olusegun vs. Nigel Wright. Nigerian-born Olusegun has run up a perfect record against cans in the UK, and will tell anyone who will listen that he's the next big thing at light welterweight. This shouldn't be much more of a test for him. Let's see him try something a bit more difficult than fighting at the British level.
ESPN2, 10 p.m. Eastern, Robert Guerrero vs. Efren Hinojosa, Danny Garcia vs. Pavel Miranda. Guererro returns after his shameful quit against Daud Yordan, and Garcia, one of Top Rank's top prospects, makes his ESPN debut.
Telemundo, 11:30 p.m. Eastern, Diobelys Hurtado vs. Manuel Garnica, Odlanier Solis vs. Dominique Alexander. Solis was originally supposed to face Fres Oquendo, which would have been a nice step up. It's still hard to tell whether he's taking this whole professional thing seriously.
Saturday, June 13
Setanta UK, 4 p.m. Eastern, John Murray vs. Scott Lawton
Gofightlive.tv, 9 p.m. ($12.99), Ray Mercer vs. Tim Sylvia. Not officially a boxing match because it's in a cage. This one could get uglier than the long-lost Tom Arnold-Roseanne Barr sex tape. If you still haven't seen the preview for this fight, go watch it now. Seriously, this is the best thing ever.
DirectTV, 9ish p.m., Ivan Calderon vs. Rodel Mayol, Matt Korobov vs. Loren Myers. This is on the untelevised undercard of Cotto-Clottey, and DirectTV will be carrying it. No word on whether it will also be shown live on Yahoo, but I wouldn't bet against it.
HBO, 10:35 Eastern, Miguel Cotto vs. Joshua Clottey
Not much interesting going on off-TV this weekend, but if you want a blast from the past, here are two names fighting this weekend (not each other) - Lou Del Valle and Morrade Hakkar. I had no idea either of those two was still fighting.
