Call it a night of reschedulings. On the September 19 Mayweather-Marquez undercard, there will be another once-scrapped bout featured on the undercard, as WBA featherweight titlist Chris John and Rocky Juarez will meet in a rematch of their controversial February draw.
John (42-0-2, 22 KO) won on most fans' scorecards, but every ringside judge had the bout a 114-114 draw. Juarez (28-4-1, 20 KO) will be trying for the sixth time to win a major title. Thus far he is 0-4-1 in such fights.
Thus far, the 9/19 pay-per-view looks really solid. Mayweather-Marquez is a fine main event, but since there are certainly skeptics about just how entertaining or even competitive that fight will be, Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy have done a good job putting on some interesting bouts for the undercard for once. John-Juarez was a good fight the first time around and deserving of a rematch, and the Zab Judah-Matthew Hatton fight does have some intrigue given the fact that we've seen Judah lose to guys like Carlos Baldomir, and Hatton is nothing if not persistent in his attacks. Judah's reputation as a six-round fighter could be tested.
