ESPN's Dan Rafael just confirmed in the studio on Friday Night Fights that the rumors are true: Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey will fight on March 13 on Cowboys Stadium in Texas. Top Rank officials will be Jerry Jones' guest at tomorrow's Cowboys playoff game against the Eagles.
The Pacquiao-Clottey contract has not been finalized yet, but Rafael rarely ever jumps the gun, and he sounds certain that's the fight we'll get on March 13.
Top Rank also plans to put the return of Antonio Margarito on the undercard should Margarito have his license reinstated by the California State Athletic Commission.
I have conflicting feelings about this entire ordeal, as I'm guessing many will, but overall it's certainly not the worst thing in the world. Getting boxing in Cowboys Stadium is very cool, and Pacquiao-Clottey is a good fight.
