Pacquiao vs Marquez Undercard: Timothy Bradley Fight Will Go On, Judge Rejects Shaw Protest

Timothy Bradley's fight with Joel Casamayor will go ahead on Saturday night as the main co-feature to the Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez main event, as a Nevada judge has dismissed an attempt to block the fight from Bradley's ex-promoters Gary Shaw and Ken Thompson.

"Plaintiffs have not consented to Bradley entering into a promotional agreement with Top Rank. Plaintiff’s have not consented to Bradley’s participation in the Casamayor bout," said the suit filed by Las Vegas attorney Harry Paul Marquis.

Clark County District Court Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez, after a hearing Tuesday, refused to cancel the fight. She ruled it wouldn’t be right to do so because of a lack of evidence that Bradley had broken his contract with Gary Shaw and Thompson Boxing.

There was never any real chance that this would have happened, so it's no surprise or anything that it's been thrown out. Bradley is with Top Rank and will be fighting for Top Rank. Whether or not Top Rank at some point settles with Shaw/Thompson is another story, as that could happen, but most of the big stuff that they're trying to do probably isn't going to go anywhere.
