Pacquiao vs Marquez 3: Bob Arum Says No Salesmanship Necessary For This Fight

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Here's a video interview from Top Rank with Bob Arum and the softball-lobbing Ines Sainz (yes! she's back!) on Pacquiao vs Marquez III:

Arum: "People should be excited about this fight. You don't have to sell a fight where the two previous fights were so exciting and so close. This fight, the third fight in the trilogy, I think it's gonna be the best of all of them."

(Editor's Note: That's selling.)

Arum: "When you have a trilogy that's this exciting, it's something that lives forever in everybody's memory. Everybody remembers the three great fights that Ali had with Frazier, the three great fights that he had with Kenny Norton. It's really something special. This fight will put an exclamation point on the whole trilogy."

Outside of that, the great thing is, of course, that Ines is back in action for Top Rank. (I don't mean that like, "Hubba hubba! Check out the babe!")

I know why they hired her and all, and there's no problem there, but -- and I don't mean this to be insulting, though I'm sure someone will take it that way -- having her do English-language interviews is just really transparent. Eye candy is eye candy, but her English isn't very good and it's not like she has insight on the fights, so it's really blatantly just to have a beautiful woman standing there with a microphone. Best part is her big, fake laugh when Arum notes that he wasn't Manny's promoter in the first fight, he was Marquez's promoter. "HAHA!" Fred Savage had some of those moments early on "The Wonder Years" where he did the worst fake laughs known to man.
