Here's the official poster for Friday's fight between WBA middleweight titlist Felix Sturm and challenger Martin Murray:
Sturm (36-2-1, 15 KO) and Murray (23-0, 10 KO) will meet at the SAP-Arena in Mannheim, with SAT1 in Germany televising the fight, as well as Sky Sports 1 in the United Kingdom. We'll have live coverage tomorrow of the Sky broadcast, which starts at 4:45 p.m. EST.
The undercard has absolutely nothing of note, for those wondering. There's an eight round women's flyweight title fight (where the challenger is 7-12-1) and a bunch of TBA matchups.
Sturm's cards are even worse than Klitschko cards in that respect. They do it because there's no need to load an undercard -- they make their huge TV money from RTL and internationally either way, and draw their gates either way. Sturm, who promotes himself, just doesn't have the money or the fighters to do much with an undercard, so he just doesn't. He's no Klitschko in terms of draw, but he does OK, to say the least. I'm kind of surprised Hatton didn't send a couple more fighters for some experience, but it is what it is.
A full fight preview for Sturm vs Murray will be coming along shortly.
