In a hilarious twist that seriously makes me just laugh and laugh and laugh, Victor Ortiz's verbal diarrhea and desire to please reporters with colorful gibberish has caught up to him, as the 24-year-old Ortiz needs to explain to the Nevada State Athletic Commission why he said that he tried to break Floyd Mayweather's nose with a headbutt in September in order to receive a license to box in the state.

Ortiz made the comments recently that he "was trying to break his nose. 100 percent."

Now let me make this clear: Yes, I have a distaste for Victor Ortiz and his goofiness and the fact that he just makes things up to suit whatever his goal is during that particular interview, but you know what? (!) This is pretty stupid. It's a throwaway quote and maybe he shouldn't have said it, but he should get his license, and I expect he will get it after a meeting where he says, "You know what? I'll take this as an experience for learning," and everyone will move on.

Ortiz is scheduled to face Andre Berto on February 11 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand.
