With all the usual Ricardo Mayorga "that guy's guy and his home country will be rooting for me" nonsense so far in the Cotto-Mayorga press conference jabber, I'll admit that I've been a bit bored by the whole thing. For once, I find a Mayorga fight more interesting, even if he gets shelled, than I do the lead-up. It seems like the old guy has finally run out of material for good.
But he does look to be in solid shape, and Cotto has been forced to throw back a few insults, so it's not all a wash. The best thing here is definitely Emanuel Steward's quote, "You can talk after the fight, and Don can come up and wave one flag, a white flag."
Cotto refused to pose for pictures or shake Mayorga's hand at the conclusion of the press conference. So you have one of two options: Mayorga has actually gotten under his skin, or everyone's playing their role. YOU make the call.
