Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

In his last fight, Dmitry Pirog made a lot of instant fans with his fifth round knockout of Danny Jacobs on the Marquez-Diaz II undercard in July 2010. Today, he returns to the ring for the first time since that big win, which for about five minutes was considered an upset, taking on Argentina's Javier Maciel. Pirog, now considered a top middleweight contender, is the heavy favorite fighting at home in Russia.

The fight can be seen at 11:45 am EDT on ESPN3.com. For those in the UK, Premier Sports also has the fight. We'll be here for a little early afternoon/late morning Saturday boxing, a rare treat for us, and the start of day-long live event coverage here at Bad Left Hook. Here's the schedule for the entire day, all times EDT:

11:45a: Dmitry Pirog v. Javier Maciel (ESPN3.com)

4p: Denton Vassell v. Bethuel Ushona, Matt Askin v. Neil Dawson (Sky Sports 2)

6p: Gamboa-Solis Undercard, featuring Teon Kennedy v. Jorge Diaz (TopRank.com)

9:45p: Yuriorkis Gamboa v. Jorge Solis, Mikey Garcia v. Matt Remillard (HBO)

Should be a real hoot!
