Today at 4pm EDT, Sky Sports 2 goes live from Robins Park Centre in Wigan with a double-header from Hatton Promotions. In the main event, Denton Vassell (16-0, 9 KO) defends his Commonwealth welterweight title against Namibian Bethuel Ushona (23-0, 8 KO) in what could wind up a tremendously intriguing fight. Our own Dave Oakes previewed the bout earlier this week:
The fight looks likely to go the distance, neither have big knockout ratios and both look to have solid chins. Uushona has mixed at a higher level and has experienced fighting on foreign soil before, so he shouldn’t be overawed by being the away fighter.
Vassell has youth on his side and has shown impressive work rate and stamina previously, although, it must be noted that Uushona has gone the twelve round distance on numerous occasions.
The co-feature has cruiserweight Matty "The Assassin" Askin (9-0, 5 KO) taking on Neil Dawson (9-0, 3 KO).
It's part two of our all-damn-day-long live fight coverage! Join me as I become uncomfortably tired!
