New York Post reporter George Willis has a great article this evening on today's Wladimir Klitschko-David Haye press function in Manhattan, filled with so many great quotes that you pretty much have to go read the whole thing. Haye was his usual self, and as Wladimir has shown in the past, his inability to keep Haye from getting under his skin is making the Ukrainian champion more brash than usual, too.
A couple of highlights:
"I will not believe this fight until I see David Haye in the corner July 2," Klitschko said Tuesday during a luncheon in Manhattan where the two fighters discussed their heavyweight unification bout. "Thank God, he is going first. Then I’ll see, OK, he’s there, then I’ll come in.’"
...
"You're boring," Haye told Klitschko. "I’d rather watch paint dry. The reason why I’m here is people want you to get knocked out so there’s some excitement in the heavyweight division. You and your brother have killed the heavyweight division and I’m here to save it."
The two also recently filmed their HBO "Face-Off" promo, and Haye tweeted yesterday about the result:
I've got a feeling that by the time fight night comes between these two, it's going to be seriously electric in Hamburg. Here I am, genuinely looking forward to a heavyweight fight.
