Andre Ward Day: Preparation for Arthur Abraham and What He Expects to Face

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Andre Ward Day wraps up here at Bad Left Hook with a video from 3MoreRounds.com, uploaded on May 1. Ward talked to reporters in the gym about his upcoming Super Six World Boxing Classic semifinal fight with Arthur Abraham.

Tomorrow on Bad Left Hook Radio, we'll preview the Ward vs Abraham fight in-depth, and talk about a lot of other news, including Pacquiao vs Mosley fallout and the news and rumors floating around the boxing world right now.

But let's turn it back over to Andre Ward. Hopefully, we've convinced at least a few folks to check out his fight on Saturday against Arthur Abraham. I wouldn't do this if I didn't believe that Ward is someone that people should make a special effort to see.

Ward: "They call him a puncher, and they say that he hits hard, and he's very physically strong. And I believe that my physical strength is right up there with the best of them, and I think he'll see and notice that, and I think he'll see that I hit a lot harder than people perceive. But that being said, it's going to be the same Arthur Abraham, in terms of style. He's going to cover up, he's going to try to open up maybe a little bit earlier, but he's going to look for the one big shot. That's what he does."
