Tonight at 11:05 p.m. EDT, Sharif "The Lion" Bogere headlines ShoBox: The New Generation against Manny Pacquiao sparring partner Raymundo Beltran, live from the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California.
We posted a video look at both fighters in the main event last night, so check that out if you missed it. Bogere, 22, is a top lightweight prospect for Golden Boy Promotions. At 19-0 (12 KO), the Ugandan-born Bogere is taking the toughest test of his career to date tonight against Beltran (24-4, 16 KO), who just helped Pacquiao prepare for Shane Mosley.
The co-feature fight got a bit heated a yesterday's weigh-in. Heavyweights Seth Mitchell (21-0-1, 15 KO) and Evans Quinn (20-5-1, 18 KO) will take it into the ring in tonight's opener. Mitchell is a still-developing converted football player at 28, a former Michigan State Spartans linebacker who is just now starting to get any real hype behind him. He's a work in progress, and I've seen more than a few folks around the internet expecting him to have a very hard time tonight with Quinn.
