Sharif Bogere managed to get by Raymundo Beltran in a bloody main event, and Seth Mitchell made Evans Quinn quit in round one last night on ShoBox: The New Generation, from Primm, Nevada.
The main event was a foul-filled but exciting affair, with Bogere (20-0, 12 KO) sneaking past Beltran (24-5, 16 KO) via unanimous decision. The fight sort of exposed the limited power of Bogere, who is a prospect with a KO rate that goes the other way, unlike recent showings from, for instance, Diego Magdaleno (19-0, 7 KO), who is a much better puncher than Bogere.
Bogere's light hitting managed to make Beltran look like he has the chin of Antonio Margarito, which he does not. But Bogere has speed and moves well, and against fighters less determined than Beltran, he should be able to get by. I don't know how high his ceiling really is, and it wouldn't surprise me if the most famous thing about him winds up being his extravagant ring entrance, to be honest. But he did show some grit in this one, too, and that's never a bad thing.
