I like when fight promoters go a different route on things like fight posters and hype videos, which is really rare. Fight sports -- boxing, MMA, probably kickboxing too -- are generally well behind what's actually, I don't know, "hip" or in tune with the world. That's why we get Kelly Pavlik coming out to KoRn every fight like it's awesome. Nobody listens to KoRn anymore. I don't even think KoRn listens to KoRn still.
I'm not saying you should, you know, sell out your personal taste to be "cool" either, but damn, the people who make fight posters and stuff are sort of paid to be creative, and they so rarely are. FLAMES. LIGHTNING BOLTS. RAIN. DARK COLORS.
I'm also not saying this poster is the epitome of hipness. I'm just saying it's cool. This is the official Hennessy Sports-released poster for the July 23 British heavyweight title clash between Dereck "Del Boy" Chisora and Tyson Fury:
You see what I mean? Something different. Something that stands out from other fight posters.
