Video: Alfonso Gomez vs Calvin Green Full Fight

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

From Alfonso Gomez's official YouTube channel, his comeback fight on Saturday against Calvin Green, in full:

Gomez (23-4-2, 12 KO) hadn't fought since March 2010, when he briefly retired Jose Luis Castillo on the Pacquiao vs Clottey undercard. The 30-year-old Mexican welterweight is actually in a pretty decent spot as a contender in a weak division. This was fought at 150-pound catchweight, but Gomez's future is definitely at welterweight.

It's kind of easy to miss, but Gomez has been fighting real competition pretty much his entire career. His second fight was against Ishe Smith, his fourth against Jesse Feliciano (they wound up fighting three times), and then two fights against Peter Manfredo Jr, plus fights with Jesse Brinkley, Arturo Gatti, Ben Tackie, Miguel Cotto, Jesus Soto Karass, Castillo.

This was a perfectly fine comeback. Green's always up for a fight, and Gomez was too good as expect. Hopefully Gomez will get active again. He'd be a great next opponent for Mike Jones when Jones is done with that junk fight in June.
