Video from ESPN Deportes' Golpe a Golpe, which is all in Spanish and stuff, but there are English-language comments from Bob Arum and Freddie Roach late in the video.
"It’s the fight I want. It’s the one that I've been asking for because I wanna shut them up and prove to them that they never got robbed. What makes me nervous about that fight though, is that sometimes people have peoples' numbers, and he might have Manny’s number, you know? He knows how to fight Manny Pacquiao. I know Manny Pacquiao has came a long way since then, he's a much more complete fighter now than he was back then ... it's not an easy fight. I've got my work cut out for me, I know. And I'm a little nervous about the fight, you've got to understand. But I love this fight better than Mayweather."
Well, I mean...duh. It would be very easy to be on Team Pacquiao and "love this fight better than Mayweather." I mean, they could try to rationalize a statement like that, but the simple fact is Manny gets paid $20 million or so for what amounts to a much easier fight than Mayweather would be, so of course Freddie prefers this to Mayweather.
You know, I like this fight, but I think there's only so much of this stuff that I can take. Please don't tell me something's better than the Mayweather fight. We all know it's not.
