From a press release, because I know this is a fight our West Coast readers are definitely going to be interested in possibly attending:
Promoted by Top Rank, tickets for The Home Depot Center's Rios vs. Antillon World Lightweight Championship fight card, priced at $125, $75, $50 and $25, go on sale Next Tuesday! May 31 at 10 a.m. PT. They can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.Ticketmaster.com as well as The Home Depot Center Box Office (open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Suites are available by calling 1-877-604-8777.
The date for the card, of course, is July 9.
Rios vs Antillon is perhaps the most anticipated fight on the schedule for hardcore boxing fans, who know that this literally cannot be a bad fight. The two warriors never take a step back and have contributed to arguably the two best fights in recent months. Antillon's December loss to Humberto Soto was my Fight of the Year for 2010, and right now Rios' win over Miguel Acosta in February is leading my personal race for 2011 Fight of the Year.
Kermit Cintron also returns on the card, making his Top Rank debut against the tough Carlos Molina, who has jumped back into the running at junior middleweight since March after a two-year absence from the sport. For those watching on TV, Showtime will have highlights of Lucian Bute's fight in Romania with Jean Paul Mendy. The TV broadcast will start at 10 p.m. EDT.
