Andre Ward will be in the house on Saturday night in Atlantic City, and the Oakland fighter will be ringside on commentary to weigh in on the Carl Froch vs Glen Johnson main event. Ward beat Arthur Abraham on May 14 to advance to the finals of the Super Six World Boxing Classic, and will find out who he meets in the finals later this year.
The 27-year-old Ward is not making a pick, but says he thinks the fans have a favorite:
My pick for the fight: Either man can win, it's all about who gets it done on the night...period. Would not be surprised either way.
The fans want Ward vs Froch. Johnson will try to spoil that (that's his job). I'm mentally prepared for either man (that's my job).
I said on the podcast this week that I think Ward vs Froch just feels right, that the two men who have overall shone the brightest in the tournament should be in the finals, but it's not like I'd have anything against Glen Johnson winning on Saturday. He's too good and too respectable for me to have a problem with that. All in all, I'm just pumped for this fight. It's going to be a good one. These aren't men accustomed to leaving any stone unturned trying to win a fight.
