Floyd Mayweather Jr has been sued yet again in an alleged assault. Here's the brief summary:
The legal documents allege that Cliff tried to take Mayweather’s photo and made some comments about a potential fight. Mayweather replied that Cliff was disrespecting him and gave the thumbs-down sign to his bodyguards. The legal suit claims that was a "signal for the bodyguards to attack Cliff, which they then did, striking Cliff in the face, knocking, pulling or pushing Cliff to the ground."
So, y'know, Gladiator. I saw Triple H and Evolution do this to Batista one time, too.
This allegedly happened in the parking lot at The Palms in Las Vegas, and the casino resort is also named in the lawsuit for providing inadequate security.
This supposedly happened in March 2010. So come on -- at some point, we're getting to where Mayweather is absorbing lawsuits at least in part because everyone else is doing it. Suing Mayweather at this point has become the new fad in Vegas. I'm not saying he surely is innocent, or surely is guilty, because I have no idea, but this is getting ridiculous. Everyone and their mother is suing Mayweather and a lot of it is just coming out of nowhere for things that allegedly happened months and months ago.
Either way, Mayweather is back in the ring on September 17 against Victor Ortiz on HBO pay-per-view. He's got a lot on his legal plate right now, but court dates have been pushed back repeatedly and there doesn't appear to be any end in sight in that regard.
