Canelo Alvarez vs Alfonso Gomez: Behind the Scenes at the Weigh-In (Video)

FightHubTV.com was behind-the-scenes with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez at today's weigh-in for tomorrow night's fight with Alfonso Gomez:

Alvarez weighed in at 153.6, with Gomez coming in a pound lighter at 152.6. The two will be fighting for Alvarez's 154-pound belt, which will be the main event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and will be beamed via satellite (yes! beamed!) into your homes on the Mayweather vs Ortiz pay-per-view from HBO.

As we noted earlier this evening, Alvarez is a heavy favorite against Gomez on the sportsbooks, as the young and wildly popular Mexican has odds of -1300 to -1500 saying he'll retain his title. Gomez (23-4-2, 12 KO) really has never beaten anyone on Alvarez's level, and in his lone previous shot against a titlist and top fighter, he was dismantled by Miguel Cotto in 2008. Gomez hasn't lost since then, but he's also fought just five times, and his best opponent has been rugged but limited Jesus Soto Karass.

Alvarez (37-0-1, 21 KO), on the other hand, has already had more professional fights and more pro rounds (237 to 147) than Gomez, so it's even hard to call Gomez the more experienced fighter. He's just the older fighter, and the two have fought similar levels of competition overall.
