And now, Floyd Mayweather Jr shows you his "softer" side, via Martin Rogers of Yahoo! Sports:
"I really like ‘The Notebook,’ " Mayweather said. "I mean, who don’t want to die next to your better half, holding hands. Die in your sleep next to the woman that you love, holding hands. That way, neither of you will ever be lonely. This is an amazing story. When you get old, what could be more beautiful than that? I feel like if I leave this earth and leave my better half, she is going to be lonely.
"If she leaves me then I am going to be lonely. I mean, what is the point of making all this money and [having] all this if you can’t enjoy it with your wife?"
When I was a kid, my favorite movie was Beaches, the Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey melodrama. Then it was briefly John Waters' Cry-Baby. I'm just saying. I guess it's not THAT weird that Mayweather's favorite movie is arguably the ultimate "chick flick."
More striking is that this is a quote you just can't really hear coming from Mayweather. I mean, it did, of course. He said all that out loud. But I struggle to imagine him saying it. It's not that I struggle to imagine him liking the movie, but putting it all so...so...beautifully.
It brings a tear to one's eye.
