Tomorrow afternoon will see a WBA junior welterweight eliminator between former European champion Paul McCloskey (22-1, 12 KO) and Breidis Prescott (24-2, 19 KO), broadcast live on Sky Sports 3 at 3 p.m. EDT. McCloskey will have home field advantage in Belfast, and the southpaw is the favorite on the sportsbooks:

These aren't big odds either way, with McCloskey more or less a slight favorite over the "Khanqueror" Prescott, who is talking big and promising a knockout, but generally does promise knockouts and has stopped just one of his mediocre opponents since knockout out Amir Khan in 54 seconds back in 2008. And though Prescott is most known for that victory, his success in the U.K. has been mixed. After losing to Miguel Vazquez in the U.S., Prescott went back overseas and was routed by Kevin Mitchell in December 2009.
Still, though McCloskey was at one time European champion, and is somewhere just outside the top ten in the weight class, this is by no means a sure bet for him. Prescott isn't really the thunderous puncher he appeared to be against Khan, but McCloskey's record is not exactly littered with great victories, either. He's been a good domestic fighter, beating the likes of Nigel Wright, Colin Lynes, Dean Harrison, and Barry Morrison, but Prescott would likely be his best win to date. McCloskey is also coming off of his first career loss, to Khan in April.
Bad Left Hook will have live coverage tomorrow at 3 p.m. EDT.
