On Freddie Roach Video Clip: Fight Night

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

No narration here, just the fight from Freddie Roach's perspective. The camera work here is fantastic, hearing the crowd and looking at just the moments of the fight with no HBO commentary, no words over it, just seeing Freddie at work, the culmination of his efforts to prepare the fighter.

I still wish we'd seen this for the Pacquiao vs Marquez and Khan vs Peterson fights instead of Khan vs Judah, which was a bust of a fight from a competitive standpoint and ultimately nothing much to remember. I'd rather witness Roach's efforts to turn or stem the tide of a fight that isn't easy or isn't going nearly as well as he and the fighter had hoped, but that's just a timing matter.

"On Freddie Roach" premieres tonight on HBO and HBO Latino at 9:30 p.m. EST. It's a half hour show, so it will serve as something of a lead-in to tonight's three-fight ShoBox on Showtime, which starts at 11 p.m. EST.
