Several weeks ago it was reported that Chris Arreola was going to be on the Williams undercard on February 18th but he did not have an opponent. Now it seems that the nightmare is going to face Eric Molina on the undercard of this stacked fight card, which also includes an interesting scrap between Tavoris Cloud and Gabriel Campillo. Since this fight already has two somewhat big fights it is unclear whether or not this fight will be televised according to Ryan Burton of Boxing Scene. However you will be able to see this fight either way. If the fight is on Showtime, then you can see it there. If they choose not to air the fight, then it will be on the new Showtime Extreme service where they show the entire undercard.
Eric Molina is coming off of a KO victory against the 36 year old Warren Browning. The fight against Arreola is going to be a gigantic step up and I expect Chris to take this fight quite easily. However I am not going to criticize Chris for taking essentially a stay-busy fight. He has made it quite clear in the past that he needs to fight consistently in order to keep the weight off and his last fight was several months ago.
The most interesting matchup in this fight is going to be between Chris and the scale. If he can manage to keep the weight off after the holiday season, then he will be well positioned to make 2012 a big comeback year. I think a rematch with Tomasz Adamek would be a great idea, because their first fight was action-packed. Also I think if Chris had a bit more stamina and a bit more movement that he would have won quite easily. If Chris manages to win this fight, who do you guys want to see him take on next?
