I wish they'd stop saying "Madison Square Garden." I don't know why this bugs me so much. Maybe the idea that Madison Square Garden is hallowed ground, and we're now pretending that Sergio Martinez is headlining MSG when he's only headlining The Theater, which just isn't the same thing.

I don't know. It could just be me, but it's really grinding my gears.
I didn't like it when Golden Boy pretended Khan vs Malignaggi was at Madison Square Garden, either. Even though MSG has faded from relevance as a top fight venue, and even though the crowd in December for the Cotto vs Margarito undercard was woefully disappointing (they didn't care at all, and it was no more a "boxing crowd" than a Vegas crowd is).
I guess I just feel like headlining the real Madison Square Garden is still a big deal, or should be, and that pretending Sergio Martinez vs Matthew Macklin is headlining MSG is kind of, I don't know, offensive? That's probably too strong. Stupid, perhaps. Because it's a lie.
