Tonight at 11 p.m. EST on Showtime (which is free this weekend for those of you who do not subscribe regularly), a lightweight double-header on ShoBox will hopefully help us learn more about three prospects.
In the main event, Luis Ramos Jr (20-0, 9 KO) meets tough veteran Raymundo Beltran (25-5, 17 KO) in the toughest fight of his young career. The co-feature will pit two 135-pound prospects, as Michael Perez (15-0-1, 9 KO) faces Omar Figueroa (13-0-1, 10 KO).
Ramos, 23, has been thus far the most-hyped of the bunch, and has turned his game up a notch since struggling in a fight last March, winning his last two fights very impressively. But the 30-year-old Beltran is no pushover, as Sharif Bogere learned last year in a bloody ShoBox brawl on May 13, so Ramos may have his hands more than full tonight.
ShoBox coverage will begin at 11, after the Friday Night Fights show on ESPN has finished. It's two shows for the price of one tonight, so join us and let's get 2012 rolling in the ring.
