All four fighters for tomorrow night's big HBO Boxing After Dark doubleheader made weight this evening in California, including Brandon Rios.
For the main event, Nonito Donaire and Toshiaki Nishioka made the 122-pound limit, with Donaire at 121.6 and Nishioka at 121.8. Donaire will be defending his WBO and IBF titles, with the vacant WBC "diamond" title also on the line.
In the HBO co-feature, Brandon Rios made 140 pounds on the button, with Mike Alvarado at 139.8. Rios looked about like he always has -- he's not an impressive body, and never has been, but he didn't seem overly drained more than he did when he was making 135 pounds. His face is just one of those faces that thins out a lot, I think. Ricky Hatton always had that, too, and both have been known to blow up between fights.
We'll have live round-by-round coverage tomorrow night for both fights, as well as continuing coverage this evening.
