Tonight at 10 pm EDT on Showtime, a doubleheader of eight-round bouts featuring a top Puerto Rican prospect will be featured on the latest installment of ShoBox: The New Generation.
Brent Brookhouse will be here to handle the live coverage and the post-fight recap.
In the lightweight main event, Jose "Sniper" Pedraza (10-0, 6 KO) will take on late replacement opponent Tevin Farmer (7-3-1, 1 KO). Pedraza, 23, has been called by some the best Puerto Rican prospect since Miguel Cotto, and he's definitely a prospect worth keeping an eye on, and worth tuning in to see. Farmer is a self-managed Philly product who has faced very limited opposition thus far.
In the co-feature, middleweight Jonathan Cepeda (12-0, 11 KO) takes on Lamar Russ (10-0, 6 KO). Cepeda, 28, is a Dominican fighter out of Florida, while 25-year-old Russ hails from Hartford, Connecticut. It's well-matched on paper; I'm unfamiliar with Cepeda, but Russ has looked like a decent prospect in the bit I've seen of him.
Also featured on the broadcast will be highlights of Jermain Taylor's fight with Raul Munoz.
