A press conference for the December 22nd rematch between Tomasz Adamek and Steve Cunningham will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd starting at 1 PM EDT and will be streamed live over the internet via Ustream. The location of the conference is the Wisla Club at 73 Main St., Garfield, NJ. The fight itself will take place at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with the undercard airing after 4 PM EDT live on NBC network television (not NBC Sports).

It's been a long time since live professional boxing has graced one of the original television channels, which have since been more interested in airing major team sports and various exclusive network television shows during prime time hours. Fortunately with the Adamek-Cunningham card coming on at 4 PM, major scheduling conflicts were avoided. And because it's earlier in the day more people will watch the fight live in Poland (Adamek's home country), expected to be a significant source of revenue for this fight according to Main Events CEO Kathy Duva.

The first Adamek-Cunningham fight in 2008 was the best cruiserweight contest since James Toney-Vassiliy Jirov in 2003. If their heavyweight rematch lives up to the first fight, boxing just may end up back on network television in a big way. Besides that, Adamek's IBF North American heavyweight title and the vacant #2 IBF heavyweight position will be on the line.
