This heavyweight fight was scheduled for eight, but it didn't get there due to the doctor stopping it on cuts. It was a fair enough call, really. Plenty of blood and the fight was a shutout for Bisbal up to that point, though Gonzales had a couple moments with a straight left hand.
This wasn't the worst fight to watch, but Gonzales is 38 and purely an opponent, while Bisbal, a former Olympian, is 32 and needed to be brought into some feverish dream world by Col. Bob and Benny to be made to sound legit -- so feverish, in fact, was this dream world, that they repeatedly described him as being in good shape, though he clearly was the less conditioned of the two fighters, and his breasts did some Arreola dancing. There was no real future on display here. Bisbal 21-1 (15), Gonzalez 20-8 (10).
