Carl Froch defends his IBF super middleweight title today in Nottingham, England, with home field advantage against American challenger Yusaf Mack. The card begins at 3 pm EST and airs on Sky Sports in the UK, Integrated Sports PPV in the US, and also can be streamed live as a PPV at GFL.tv.
Froch (29-2, 21 KO) is the massive favorite in the fight, but says he's not going to take Mack (31-4-2, 17 KO) lightly, even if those in the media and most fans predict Froch will steamroll through what is seen as a stay-busy fight, Froch's first one of those since 2008. The BLH staff picked Froch across the board, which was no surprise.
On the undercard, Tony Bellew (18-1, 12 KO) will look to avoid being upset by Argentina's Roberto Bolonti (30-1, 19 KO). Nothing about Bolonti's record would suggest he's going to be a serious challenge for Bellew -- think more Hector Saldivia than Sergio, Matthysse, Maidana, or Abregu -- but Bellew would of course be wise to not look past this like it's a gimme, and I doubt he will. The vacant WBC silver title at 175 is on the line, which itself means nothing, really, but the winner of this fight would theoretically be in line for a shot at the WBC world title sometime next year, perhaps.
BLH will have live coverage of the fights, followed by immediate post-fight results and analysis. Join us as we get a big day of boxing rolling!
