It took two tries for Austin Trout, but the defend WBA junior middleweight champ made weight for Saturday night's fight at Madison Square Garden with Miguel Cotto, dropping trou and hitting the 154-pound limit on the nose.
Cotto weighed in at 153.6 pounds for the title fight.
On the undercard, featherweights Jayson Velez and Salvador Sanchez II made weight for their Puerto Rico vs Mexico showdown. Velez came in at 125.8, with Sanchez at 125.2. Also televised tomorrow night is middleweight Danny Jacobs' return. The fight was set with an agreement of 162 pounds, plus one pound for wiggle room. Jacobs weighed in at 161.2, and opponent Chris Fitzpatrick tipped the scales at 163.3. He had one hour to lose the additional .3 and make weight.
Cotto vs Trout goes live on Showtime tomorrow night at 9 pm EST and is also televised by BoxNation in the UK. BLH will have live coverage of the fights tomorrow night.
