Tyson Fury vs Denis Boytsov off for December 1, but possible for February 2013

Tyson Fury won't face Denis Boytsov on December 1, but the fight hasn't been totally scrapped, and it's possible it could happen early next year.

A proposed fight between Tyson Fury and Denis Boytsov has been scrapped for the time being, but there's still talk of it happening in the near future. Boytsov's team reportedly wanted more time to prepare, meaning that the December 1 was too close for their liking, and are said to be considering taking the fight in February 2013.

"We are looking to reschedule the fight for mid-February. Boytsov said he needs more time to prepare for Tyson. We are now on with another opponent for Dec 1st. That’s all I know for now," Peter Fury stated.

Fury will keep the December 1 date in Belfast, where he'll headline at the Odyssey Arena against an opponent to be named. That opponent should be named shortly, given that the fight is only three weeks away, and expectations should be low. Fury already expected he'd fight "another bum" on the date, and that's most likely what we'll get.

The good news is that a serious fight was pursued, and it could still happen shortly down the road. Here's hoping we actually see that fight in February, because it's a good one for both fighters.
