Tickets for the December 15 fight at the Toyota Center in Houston between Nonito Donaire and Jorge Arce go on sale today at 10 am central time, and are priced to please boxing fans.
"Ticket prices are set at $30, $60, $100 and $200," informed Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum. "There are 10 fights on the card. At$30 per ticket, you’re paying $3 per fight. Can you believe it? We’re practically giving it away!"
The show will be broadcast on HBO as a "World Championship Boxing" event, with Jim Lampley, Larry Merchant, and Roy Jones Jr on commentary, rather than a "Boxing After Dark" show, which Donaire's last fight was billed as being against Toshiaki Nishioka on October 13.
Donaire (30-1, 19 KO) is going to be the big favorite as he defends his WBO title (as well as the WBC Diamond belt, apparently), but veteran Arce (61-6-2, 46 KO) is confident he'll do his best work once again as the underdog.
Nothing has been finalized yet for the undercard, but it's expected that Guillermo Rigondeaux will be on the bill in the HBO co-feature.
