Today at 4 pm EST, Tyson Fury looks to stay unbeaten in his heavyweight rise, and possibly set up a fight with one of the Klitschko brothers next. First, he'll have to get past old Vitali victim Kevin "Kingpin" Johnson at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.
BLH will have live round-by-round coverage of the fights, with immediate post-fight analysis to follow. Channel 5 will air the show in the UK, while WealthTV has the fights in the United States, available for streaming online at WealthTV.com.
The fight has been sanctioned as a WBC eliminator, which doesn't really make sense but then, what does, really, when it comes to eliminators and boxing title fights in general, meaning that the winner would in theory be in line to face Vitali Klitschko next. Horrifyingly, that opens up at least the small possibility of a Vitali-Johnson rematch, which couldn't really be worse than the first one, but it seems sort of obvious that Fury is being groomed to at least have a claim for that fight.
Fury (19-0, 14 KO) is a sizable favorite today, as Johnson (28-2-1, 13 KO) has failed on the big stage already, and isn't considered a serious contender.
Also featured on the show will be middleweight prospect Chris Eubank Jr (7-0, 3 KO), who takes a step up in competition against veteran Bradley Pryce (33-11, 18 KO). Pryce, a former Commonwealth junior middleweight champion, is a faded fighter, but still a very good test for Eubank's eighth pro fight.
