Ricky Burns won't be fighting on Saturday, which doesn't come as a big surprise after opponent Jose Ocampo pulled out of the fight on short notice following the sudden passing of his trainer, and is targeting a January return in Glasgow to make up for the lost date.
Burns (35-2, 10 KO) was offered a 10-round fight for Saturday -- perhaps against Derry Mathews -- but instead has chosen to delay his return. The original opponent for Saturday was Liam Walsh, who also had to pull out after being involved in an automobile accident.
This probably dashes the hopes of a Burns vs Adrien Broner fight for February, which had been discussed as a possibility were Burns to win as expected on Saturday. If that fight is going to happen, it will have to come later in 2013.
The new main event for Saturday's London bill will be the super middleweight clash between George Groves and Glen Johnson.
