Nonito Donaire and Jorge Arce made it quick and painless on the scales today in Houston, making weight for tomorrow night's HBO main event, and finding it hard to not laugh, smile, and joke around during their staredown moment.
Donaire weighed in at 121½ pounds for the super bantamweight title fight, with Arce hitting the limit of 122 after stripping nude.
Donaire (30-1, 19 KO) will be defending his WBO title, as well as the WBC "Diamond" title. Arce (61-6-2, 46 KO) will look to win a second world title at 122 pounds, having also won world titles at 108, 115, and 118, as well as a long stint as an interim titlist at 112. Donaire has also won titles at 112, 115, and 118, so it's a pair of four-division titlists meeting tomorrow night on HBO.
The show will go live tomorrow at 9:30 pm EST, but first up will be the Pacquiao-Marquez IV replay from last week. BLH will have live coverage of Donaire vs Arce tomorrow night.
