David Lemieux continued his rampage over lower-tier opponents tonight in Montreal, knocking out Russian Albert Ayrapetyan in the second round on a right hand to the jaw. Lemieux also scored a pair of first round knockdowns, and his heavy hands once again ruled the day against an overmatched foe.
Lemieux (28-2, 27 KO) remains fantastic TV, so there's really no complaint when it comes to watching him smash guys, but whether or not he's really improved after losses to Marco Antonio Rubio and Joachim Alcine is still well up in the air. Nobody's going to turn down watching him fight, which is good, but there's still a lot to prove for the 23-year-old powerhouse.
He'll get a chance to keep moving forward, though, as he returns on February 8 on ESPN Friday Night Fights, facing Colombia's Jose Miguel Torres (26-5, 23 KO), who is durable if nothing else, having never been stopped.
Our live coverage of Pascal-Kuziemski continues here, with the main event up next.
