Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr will meet Rodrigo Guerrero in a rematch for the IBF super flyweight title on January 26 in Mexico, Miguel Rivera reports at BoxingScene.com.
Sanchez (15-1-1, 8 KO) scored a mild upset over Guerrero (18-4-1, 12 KO) in February of this year, and though there wasn't really controversy (outside of hilarious judge Ruben Garcia scoring it 119-109 for Sanchez), there was healthy debate about a close fight, and plenty of good reasons are there to make this rematch.
Since then, Sanchez has beaten veteran "Topo" Rosas and knocked out Rodel Mayol, establishing himself as a genuine top fighter at 115 pounds. Guerrero beat a club fighter in August, and stopped Sebastien Gauthier in Canada on November 3.
25-year-old Jorge Paez Jr (33-4-1, 19 KO) will also see action on the card in the co-feature. His opponent has not been named. The show will be promoted by Zanfer and Juan Manuel Marquez.
