Manny Pacquiao could make up to $30 million on Saturday, according to Top Rank's Todd duBoef, who tells Yahoo! Sports columnist Kevin Iole that $25 million is probably the low end for what Manny will rake in for his fourth fight against Juan Manuel Marquez.
The official numbers with the Nevada State Athletic Commission have Pacquiao making a purse of $8.595 million, with Marquez at $3 million guaranteed. Both will make money from the pay-per-view, with Pacquiao having a big piece of that pie, as well as foreign TV money.
Last year, when they met for a third time, Pacquiao was guaranteed $22 million overall, with a purse listing of $6 million. Marquez was guaranteed $5 million, so he's actually taken a slight pay cut for this fight. Had Marquez won the fight on the judges' scorecards, a fourth fight between the two would have guaranteed Marquez $10 million.
duBoef also says there's no indication that the public has lost interest in Manny Pacquiao's fights:
"We're getting more of the bars and restaurants, the chains, the Hooters, the Buffalo Wild Wings, places like that, buying the fight," duBoef said. "If [interest in Pacquiao is decreasing], I am not seeing it."
HBO pay-per-view sales are expected to be over one million. Last year, the two sold 1.3 million on pay-per-view.
