In an interview with Chris Robinson of the Examiner, Zab Judah seems to have calmed down a bit from his press conference blow-up with Angel Garcia (and to a far lesser extent, his actual upcoming opponent, Danny Garcia), but he says the Garcia camp has simply given him extra motivation and woken him up for their Showtime main event at the Barclays Center on February 9.
"I don’t think it was a smart strategy move on Angel and Danny Garcia’s part. If I was fighting someone like myself, I wouldn’t wake them up, I would just play cool. But they woke me up. We’re ready. ... It’s going to be the Zab Judah that the world wants to see. The Zab Judah that the world is looking for. Put your magnifying glasses away, put your flashlight away, he’s coming straight to you, with a cape on his back."
Guys, I gotta be honest: I love this. I love that Zab the big talker is back. I don't even care that my gut feeling is we see the same old Zab Judah -- great talent, questionable drive, from where I sit. This has become a fight I feel like I've got to see, rather than just a fight I will watch because, you know, I watch fights. I don't know that anything will actually change, but what's the point of never getting excited for stupid reasons? What kind of life is that?
Grumpy Cat Meme life, that's what kind.
