Rumors out of Denmark are that Mikkel Kessler and James DeGale will both be in action on April 21, which conflicts with the agreed-to fight between Kessler and WBO super middleweight titlist Robert Stieglitz, which is scheduled for April 14 at Parken in Copenhagen.

Stieglitz vs Kessler was scheduled for November 5 last year, but was postponed and rescheduled shortly after with the April 14 date.

The April 21 rumor includes a fight between European super middleweight champ James DeGale and mandatory challenger Cristian Sanavia. From Per Ake Persson:

"I have seen it, you have seen it, we are not the listed promoters [of DeGale-Sanavia] and I can't tell you anything," said Sauerland Event's CEO Chris Meyer with a big smile.

DeGale has recently had a rift with promoter Frank Warren, as he attempted to leave Warren and move on with a new promoter, but Warren challenged that by noting DeGale's contract is valid through April 2013.

So this is all a bit of a mess to figure out. Stieglitz-Kessler falling through is in the rumor stage right now, but a fight with Magee, who holds the interim WBA belt and just knocked out Dane Rudy Markussen on February 18, would make some sense.

Sauerland and Warren also have a strong working relationship, as Sauerland Event provides fights for Warren's BoxNation network, so DeGale getting on a Sauerland show, if he must work with Warren, would add up. It would be no surprise to have the two promoters working together.

There's plenty to figure out and shake out with this one, but for now treat it as a rumor. DeGale's situation is up in the air right now, and Kessler has the scheduled fight with Stieglitz until there's a firm declaration that it's off.
