Mikey Garcia had no issues tonight against Bernabe Concepcion, which was the expected outcome of a fight that wasn't nearly as good on paper as was being sold.

Garcia (28-0, 24 KO) didn't rush anything, and finally stopped Concepcion (29-6-1, 15 KO) in the seventh round. It was a usual performance from Garcia, who looked good, but the fight was far from pleasant to watch, as Concepcion once again looked a disinterested fighter who completely lacks confidence and probably should start considering another career, or at least needs to stop being forced into premium TV slots he doesn't deserve.
Garcia, 24, is now hoping to land a title shot next, and he's ready to do that, I think. His recent opponents have been iffy, but his talent is very real, and it's sink or swim time -- at least by the end of the year, Mikey should be fighting a fellow top 10 guy.
He's hoping to face the winner of tonight's main event, which is coming up shortly. Join our live thread!
