Tonight's edition of ShoBox: The New Generation figures to be a two-fight Golden Boy showcase for prospects Omar Figueroa and Randy Caballero, but as crazier upsets have happened on ShoBox than those two losing, we'll be here with round-by-round coverage starting at 11 p.m. EDT.
Figueroa (14-0-1, 11 KO) faces Ramon Ayala (23-2-1, 11 KO) in the 10-round lightweight main event. Figueroa actually missed weight (and pretty much blew it off after) so he doesn't get to hold on to the WBO Youth lightweight belt, but Ayala can win it with the upset.
Caballero (13-0, 7 KO) will meet Jose Luis Araiza (29-5-1, 20 KO) in an eight-round super bantamweight bout. Araiza is 0-4-1 in his last five, and like Ayala, has a record that looks better than it really is. In reality, neither fight really should be a test tonight, and neither fight was booked to be truly competitive.
But hey, join us this evening and we'll find out if something goes wrong on the latest edition of ShoCaseBox.
