Sonny Boy Jaro Upsets Pongsaklek Wonjongkam: Full Fight Video

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Via YouTube, here's the full fight on Friday morning (EST) from Thailand, where Sonny Boy Jaro shocked the boxing world and knocked out Pongsaklek Wonjongkam to become the new world flyweight champion.

As noted before, it's not the prettiest fight in the world, but it's not dull, and it's going to be tough to top for biggest upset of 2012.

Jaro (34-10-5, 24 KO) has a mandatory WBC defense against Toshiyuki Igarashi (15-1-1, 10 KO), who won an eliminator over Wilbert Uicab in November, but we'll see what the WBC enforces. Pongsaklek (83-4-2, 45 KO) is a WBC favorite, and with good reason in his case, so they might move some things around to get him a rematch.

Nobody saw this coming. I keep odd hours so I was watching the fight mostly because I could, and because it's fun to watch live fights at 3 in the morning, but I didn't expect we were going to get the upset. Once the first round came and went, though, it looked a little iffy for Pongsaklek, and it turned out a lot more than iffy.
