Tonight at 7 p.m. EDT on Showtime Extreme in the US and BoxNation in the UK, preliminary bouts from the Abner Mares vs Eric Morel card will air, featuring a veteran super middleweight and a super featherweight prospect in action.

Librado Andrade, who has three times fought for super middleweight world titles and come up short, will face Rowland Bryant in a 10-round bout. Andrade (30-4, 23 KO) is looking to make one more run at a potential title shot, and the 33-year-old Mexican will be starting fairly light facing Bryant (15-1, 10 KO), whose record isn't as good as it appears at first glance. A veteran of the Florida local circuit, the 32-year-old Bryant turned pro in 2003 but has fought just twice since 2006, and just once since 2009.

Also in action will be unbeaten super featherweight Francisco Vargas (9-0-1, 7 KO) against prospect checker Rafael Lora (11-7, 5 KO). It's a mild step-up fight and some TV exposure for the 27-year-old Vargas, who has been a pro for just over two years.

Given that there may be time to fill, other fights could or should get some time. Lightweight prospect Luis Ramos Jr (21-0, 9 KO) will face veteran Daniel Attah (26-9-1, 9 KO). Local favorite Antonio Escalante (26-4, 17 KO) will take on Francisco Camacho (7-0, 2 KO). And 21-year-old junior middleweight Christopher Pearson (3-0, 2 KO) of Ohio will face Jose Martell (2-1-1, 2 KO). Pearson has been featured on nothing but notable cards thus far, as his position on the Mares-Morel show follows appearances on the undercards of Alvarez-Cintron, Ramos-Beltran, and Alexander-Maidana.

Join us as we get ready for the main card on Showtime, starting at 9:30 p.m. EDT.
